T in the Park is a British music festival that is held annually. This musical festival is being held since 1994. It is named after its major sponsor “Tennents” which is a brewing company. In starting it was held at Starthclyde Park, Lanarshire but since 1997 it is held at airfield in Balado, Kinross-shire. T in the Park was a two-days festival in early days but since 2007 it held for three days, and there are chances that it will be upgraded to a weekend campaign. T in the Park festival is promoted by DF Concerts, a Scottish promoter responsible for major events such as T in the Park.
In “T in the Park” there are large camping areas to cater large number of people attending the festival and stay duration of the event. In this festival there are also many other facilities like concession stalls and shops, funfairs etc. The festival of 2011 held from 5 July to 8 July in which headliners were Coldplay, Foo Fighters and Arctic Monkeys.
Since moving, the festival has expanded in size with a mix of bands such as The Killers, Kings of Leon, Travis, Texas, Green Day, Foo Fighters, Garbage, Moby, Iggy Pop, Stereophonics, R.E.M., The Proclaimers, The Darkness, Idlewild, Muse, Razorlight, Maxïmo Park, The Polyphonic Spree, The Specials, The Chemical Brothers and Kasabian.
